Jako každý týden, již pravidelně navštěvuji lekci s názvem TOEFL preparation. Je to lekce, kde zdokonaluji svoji mluvenou angličtinu. Vždy to probíhá tak, že každý z nás dostane téma, o kterém bude mluvit, a pak máme 15 sekund na přípravu a 45 vteřin čistého času na zodpovězení položené otázky. Vždy je zapotřebí okomentovat svůj názor a argumentovat.

Jako první jsem tentokrát předstoupila já a dostala jsem následující otázku:

Do you prefer to eat at home or in a restaurant? Use reasons and details to support your response.

A jak jsem odpověděla?

I prefer to eat at home to in a resaturant, because it is more cheaper and I know where the food comes from. Eating in a restaurant is really expensive in our country and it is not healthy. And when I at home I can cook waht I want. For these reasons I prefer to eat at home to eat in a restaurant.

Po celou dobu mluvení jsem si musela hlídat čas. Je dobré před samotným gongem stihnout ještě velmi krátké shrnutí celé myšlenky.

Nakonec se ještě můžete pokusit odpovědět na následující otázku:

Každý odpověděl jednu otázku a po ní byl hodnocen. Obvykle se jednalo o nedostatky, kdy byly myšlenky špatně strukturované, či se objevovaly gramatické chyby nebo prostě chyběl úvod či závěr.

Lektorce moc děkuji za cenné rady a ani příští hodinu si nenechám ujít.

Dnešním tématem bylo povídání o emocích v různých zemích, však na úvod jsme se nevyhnuly otázce: „Were you an emotional child?“ Některé z nás odpověděly, že jejich emoce jsou velké, pak se jedná o „temper tantrums“.

Pak jsme srovnávaly obyvatele jednotlivých zemí, zda-li jsou emočně zaměření, nebo spíše chladní a to za pomoci tohoto článku:

„Singaporeans are the least likely in the world to report experiencing emotions of any kind on a daily basis. The 36% who report feeling either positive or negative emotions is the lowest in the world. Filipinos, on the other hand, are the most emotional, with six in 10 saying they experience a lot of these feelings daily.“

Opět nechyběla ani diskuze o následujících otázkách, a protože jsme byly na výuce pouze dvě, ke slovu jsem se dostala velmi často.

Lekce byla velmi pěkně vedená a organizovaná a proto ji hodnotím jako velmi pozitivní a naučnou.

Dnešním tématem se staly knihy, filmy či popis obsahu jiných děl. Musím uznat, že sumarizovat nějakou knihu může být velká zábava. Jak tedy přesně zněl dnešní první úkol?

„Describe the most recent book you read.“
-          summarise the story

 „I would like to summarise my favourite book in my country. The name of this book is Memento. The main hero is the young boy who life is changed when he tried to take drugs. At first he was really excited about it. He met new friends and his girlfriend. He wanted to be like her, so he tried to take heavy drugs. Suddenly he found out that our life is really stupid when he had to have his drugs instead of sleeping or loving with his girlfriend. Finally, he ended up in hospital for addicted people. He wanted to start again his life, but he did not get his next chance. I feel sorry for him.“

Dalším úkolem bylo napsat tzv. „fiction“, ale před samotným psaním jsme si měli příběh naplánovat, mohlo to vypadat nějak takhle:

1.      Five friends want to gain new experience.

2.      They decide to go on special holiday.

3.      They need a lot of money for it.

4.      They try to kidnap a young girl from a wealthy family.

5.      This girl is not usual.

6.      She has special power.

7.      She makes hell for this people.

8.      Instead of one of them.

9.      He must decide if he want to save her friends or himself.

10.  His decision is bad.

Po tomto kroku následoval výběr, zda-li bude náš příběh:

„It was pretty nice day and five friends decided to go to holiday. They thought that they gain new experience and they will be feel free and happy after that. They planned their holiday every day and they looked forward it like young children. They imagined sun, sand, motorcycling, surfing or cycling. Of course, they found out that money is a big problem. One of the five friends knew pretty wealthy family and they decided to kidnap his really young and cute daughter. They thought it would be easy, they gave them some money and they give them back their daughter. But the situation has changed in one minute. From the cute and nice girl happened angry and crying young woman. He destroyd all what stood in her way. She broke leg one of them and other shook in the corner of the room. The girl binded them to the post and tormented them. But one of them was free and he had to see his friends suffer form pain. Finally he had to make a big decision. He could save his friends or himself. When he saw so cruel young girl, he wanted to be away from that room and he decided to save only himself. His friends were dead and they went to scare him every night to his house. He was really exhausted about it that he died, too.“

Summarise of story

I have decided to summarise story that my son loves so much. The main hero is a nice girl with a long gold hair. He loves her love. He fly above the medow every day. She loves animals in the forest where she lives. Her life is absolutely happy and unlimited. But one scary day come a bad mole for her. She must become his wife. Mice cook cake for the wedding and the girl is absolutely upset, like never before. She beggs not to married to him. But he is merciless. Her best friend, swallow is ill. Finally, when swallow is healthy, she helps her and they fly to the other place where sun shines and she meet new friends. She loves to him.

Bohužel čas při psaní hrozně rychle utíká a více už jsme toho nestihli, hodina se mi však velmi líbila a už se těším na další takovou.

BBC je vždy v obraze

Jako vždy se sešla obdobná sestava studentů, kteří prahnou po novinkách z BBC. Ihned na úvod jsme se vrhli na článek o prezidentovi, který se rozvádí. Na mě vyšel tento článek, který se týkal víry, Muslimů a Islámu. Musím uznat, že to není moje oblíbené téma a text byl hrozně dlouhý, takže už jsme dokonce této hodiny nic jiného nestihla. Jak vůbec začít psát „personal letter“ ? Tak například:

Na úvod jsme si přečetli ukázkový dopis, jenž se skládal z úvodu, těla a závěru. Naším úkolem bylo napsat dopis obdobný. Když jsme tak učinili, ve dvojicích jsme diskutovali, co se nám líbí na dopisu druhého a co naopak bychom udělali trochu jinak.

Měli jsme užít tzv. „constructive critism“ tedy více než kritiku druhému poradit.

Zde je můj dopis a pod ním oprava mých chyb. Tak jako já se učím ze svých chyb, můžete i vy:

But I am persuade that you will manage to that. In my country is a lot of flood now. Although is June, the weather is really bad and it had benn raining for seven days and it causes floods in the capital city. But our village isn´t destroyed and we are happy here.

Pak jsme vzájemně odpovídali na následujících několik otázek:

1. What is your favorite part of this writing?

2. Are there any areas where you are confused by the writing?
3. Are there any areas where you wish you had more/less information? 

Lekci hodnotím jako přínosnou a velmi efektivní.

Opět jsme začali tzv. chain talk a jaké dnešní chyby musel lektor opravovat?

Tak například:
I prefer musicals…….movies. TO = I prefer musicals to movies.

Where is the mistake?
I was in cinema. = I was in the cinema (it is a public place..like theater, airport)

To school---like a student.

To the school---for parent´s meeting

Podobné je to u hospital, church, prison.     

Po částečném probrání členů určitých, neurčitých a tzv. „zero articles“ jsme zhlédli další část videa z hotelového prostředí:

Naším úkolem nemohlo být nic jiného než odpovídat na následující otázky:

„Finish the sentence: “Can you send someone … … … ?” Up right way = immediately
What did the lady’s sister do? Spilt some juice
Who will they send to the room? With what?...........Janitor = /ˈdʒænɪtə/ = a person who takes care of the house

Musím uznat, že jsem dnešnímu zdánlivě lehkému videu příliš neporozuměla, tak jsem byla ráda, že nám některé informace lektor objasnil.

comb [kəʊm]

Dnešní hodina byla opravdu nabitá novou slovní zásobou a gramatikou a právě proto se mi moc líbila.

Jako každý měsíc, i dnes jsem rozhodla zúčastnit představení a vystoupit se svým dílem. Samozřejmě jsem nebyla jediná, studentů, kteří chtěli ukázat svůj talent, bylo víc. Vše začalo jarní básničkou v podání Ewy:

Dále jsem byla vyzvána já k tomu, abych předvedla svůj talent, tak jsem představila svoji básničku věnovanou English City. Byla jsem ráda, že se všem moc líbila:

Lekce se mi velmi líbila a jsem z ní opravdu nadšená.
